CITES Reglementation

The Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) is a treaty signed by 175 states.  CITES regulates the trade in exotic skins.

Gabriel de Lys SAS has officially a CITES Agreement from Paris DRIEE (75) and this, to provide a CITES certificate.

Also, each product made with materials onin exotic skin must be accompanied by its CITES certificate in order to proceed to the smooth progress of its export outside the country of sale and manufacture.

For these reasons all our exotic leather goods come with the CITES documents according to the laws in force. Items purchased in stores will be eligible for immediate delivery of a CITES certificate duly completed by the vendor. In the case of an order placed on the e-shop, the CITES documents will be provided with an additional delay due to the legal export procedure linked to online commerce.

Shop in store:

Each piece made in exotic skin will be delivered with its CITES certificate and an attestation of sale. The article can thus be transported as a personal item. It is strongly advised to always keep a copy of these nominative documents within the acquired item.

Online purchase

Each piece made in exotic skin will be delivered with its CITES certificate and an attestation of sale. However, the item (s) concerned shall be the subject of an export application. The documents will be placed in an envelope dedicated to the Customs authorities.

Depending on the country, we will send an additional explanatory email in order to inform the customer of the arrival of the article so that he can establish the procedures of customs clearance related to the importation of his country of the article acquired. Indeed, if the article is an export for the company Gabriel de Lys SAS, it will become an import when it is brought into the country of the purchasing customer.
